The Chattahoochee Valley Warriors strive to provide an engaging, motivational environment for prior Service Members to get active and find new camaraderie with fellow Veterans.
The program we aim to provide comes with a high cost, so we need your help to make it happen. The expenses associated with providing a “Healing Through Hockey” experience can exceed $25,000 annually. Your partnership makes all the difference!
”To me, healing through hockey means being able to get back to the camaraderie that I miss being in the Army. It means being part of a team again.
The impact that hockey has had on my life is that it has helped get my health back on track and also has made a huge contribution to helping me quit drinking!”

The impact of this team for me will forever help how I approach my personal problems. There is multiple ways of accomplishing situations and sometimes you need a team behind you. For me this is that team.”

”Healing through hockey can mean a lot of things, depending on the person. For me, it’s about how the sport can provide a sense of belonging, strength, and emotional release. The physicality of the game can be a way to channel emotions like frustration, anger, or sadness, while the teamwork and camaraderie can give a sense of support and connection. It’s also a space where people can push through mental or physical barriers, all while feeling part of something bigger than themselves.
As for the impact of hockey on my life, it’s definitely been something that brings structure and focus. Even if I were to have played recreationally or just followed it closely, I think hockey teaches resilience, discipline, and the value of working with others toward a common goal. The community around it is strong, and there's something about watching or playing that can pull you out of your head and make you focus on the moment.”
”What hockey through healing means to me is its a way to belong to a team again after hanging up the uniform. It's a way to take your stresses out on the puck and skating hard.
The way hockey made an impact on me was by allowing me to think about something else in a positive way.”
